The Miss World Zimbabwe Pageant was founded in 1980 when the national beauty pageant was transformed from Miss Rhodesia after attaining independence. The pageant holds high national value and aims to empower young women and give them a voice to epitomise the meaning of beauty with a purpose. Beauty with a Purpose encourages contestants to align themselves with relevant and important charity activities.

The Miss World Zimbabwe Queen represents the country at the Miss World International Pageant, which is the oldest existing national beauty pageant and is one of the big four beauty pageants in the world.
